How It Started

Founded by London studio veteran Andrew James Ward, Skill Tech Audio Engineering Institute emerged from a vision to transform live sound education in the MENA region. Since 1993, Andy has built his expertise from London's recording studios to international live venues, bringing decades of professional experience to our innovative training programs.

Our primary purpose is to create an audio ecosystem that services the professional audio industry with the best audio students, provides the ultimate student experience and gives the world at large better sounding concerts and conferences.

To provide high-quality, live, sound education that emulates real-world scenarios as closely as possible. Our equipment is class A professional audio; our industry partners validate our courses, and our instructors are practising live sound engineers.

Audio mixers and microphones are delicate they should be covered when not in use and taken care of, or else dust enters the electronics and reliability goes down as does sound quality. SevenStars extensive equipment is well loved and cared for – which means it works when you need it.

The teaching style is vocational and progressive and centred around practical hands-on experience with a mix of demonstration, facilitation, self-learning, and collaboration. It’s our mission and dream that at the hub of our audio ecosystem are satisfied employees who are happy in the workplace, our partners get the best interns and the public hear the clearest sounds!

What we use

We believe that equipment and Facilities should emulate the real world as perfectly as possible. From our front of house mixers, to line arrays right down to the cables and connections we only use the very latest audio technology. Before and after every studio session or workshop, our equipment is checked by our in house specialists so that when students want to practice - the equipment works!

Certification

The advantages of our certificate over a diploma or degree are numerous. Firstly, our curriculum is on the pulse of existing industry practices. Degree courses are, more often than not, many years behind the industry; this is because of the lengthy accreditation process by academics – as opposed to industry practitioners. Secondly, for-profit schools tend to skimp on purchasing the latest audio technology. However, because we partner with companies, our students access literal warehouses full of equipment.

Thirdly, the emphasis of an expensive degree leans toward writing about audio than kinesthetic practise.

Because we teach our courses in our partners’ warehouses and premises, you can rest assured that firstly the audio technology, so essential to our field, is up-to-date, and secondly the hands on practical experience is maximum.
